Stephen Bain / Baby, where are the fine things you promised me?

After studying architecture at Victoria University and theatre at Toi Whakaari New Zealand Drama School, Stephen Bain has dedicated himself to the theatrical profession since 1990.

Along with actress France Hervé, Bain founded Wellington-based theatre company Under Lili’s Balcony in 1996. Up until 2003, the two artists co-directed eight original pieces combining dance, theatre, and in-situ performance.

Since 2004 Bain has been Director of Winning Productions, whose highly visual creations reflect Bain’s interest in video and interdisciplinary performance.
In 2006 he created the ‘’Luxembourg Gardens’’ artistic residency center in Auckland, a creative development space devoted to the performing arts.

He has also supervised the stage design for numerous plays ,and occasionally teaches both acting and directing.
Since 2007 he has been performing Baby, where are the fine things you promised me?  around the globe.
