Aérosolisme – Aerosol Art
by Omen (Montreal) - creation

Come and meet Omen, a graphic artist from Montreal, who will make a triptych “live” during the three days of the festival on 8ft x 4ft boards. The artist will conceive the visual piece in a progressive fashion, utilizing his most faithful tool: aerosol paint.

The city is his habitual canvas of choice. His original form of expression reveals black and white expressionistic portraits which draw from both popular culture and his personal life: “I see with my eyes and speak with my hands; my language is aerosol and oil.” This piece represents a revision of the graphic arts, allowing the viewer to discover his autodidactic technique in an artistic context that is both unlikely and atypical.

“His faces – he always does faces, almost always in black and white – seem to hang ghostlike in the gloom, at once starkly photographic and sublimely intangible.” Rupert Bottenberg, Montreal Mirror, 2002
